3D Snake

5/9/2015

This is an Intermediate level project. It has not been tested by a bead-fairy, so if you find any instructions that could be explained better, please let me know and I'll fix them right away.
If you make a snake and you're happy with it, please leave a comment and I'll post some more free patterns.

Please note, the pattern asks for size 14 seed beads, but you can use size 15 seed beads instead (15/0). They are probably even better to use than the 14/0 seed beads.

Thank you very much for the pattern! I am looking forward to trying the diagonal tubular Peyote technique and will let you know how it went. :)
I have already beaded your little teddy bear as well as your angel and mermaid dolls - they all were a breeze to make thanks to your very clear patterns!

Thanks Nicki! I'm using diagonal tubular peyote for every new idea I have - hoping that people find the instructions ok to follow. I hope you enjoyed this pattern - and I'd love to know how it went. With a pattern blog like this I have no way of knowing who has found it, printed it, made it, liked it etc - so yes, feedback hugely appreciated!!!

My hubby's birthday finally gave me the opportunity to bead your little stripy snake. I think it turned out great, and he spent minutes looking at it and wiggling it. ^^ I think he liked it. :D

Hi Ruth,
Thank you for the free pattern! I noticed that you have a section called 'Archives' but I can't click on the May 15 link, it doesn't seem to go anywhere? Was that another free pattern?
Many thanks for your great patterns! They are lovely to follow and I'm working my way through your collection - I've just ordered another 3! ☺️ That should keep me busy for a while 😂

Thank you so much for this wonderful snake! I never did this technique before and i'm not english, but i succeed with your great drawings! I did a green mamba for my brotger with the same beads, and it works too! Sure he'll love it, it's very beautiful, thank you.

Love this pattern--so fluid. Even our cats thought it was real at first.

Hi Ruth. My grandson was visiting & had seen a beaded snake so I looked on line & found yours. I am having trouble finding size 14 seed beads, or is there an alternative I live in England, have you any ideas of where to get them. Can’t wait to start it. Many thanks.

Hi Chris, you can use the size 15/0 seed beads, which are much easier to find. When I wrote that pattern I should have specified 15/0, but beads are often sold with confusing information in New Zealand (where I live) - so I got it wrong, & I'm sorry about that!

I would love a pdf of this pattern if possible. I am fairly new and it would be easiee to follow pattern instead of constantly flipping back and forth. Much appreciated and love it.
